Background
I am a Marriage and Family Therapist, proud dad, 4th Degree Black Belt in Indonesian martial arts, professional visual artist, sports fan, meditator, musician, and active community member. I was born and raised in the Rocky Mountains of Denver, Colorado where I developed a love for nature, art and a curiosity about human relationships that led me to a career in psychology.
Throughout my life I’ve been blessed with the guidance of mentors, teachers and friends who helped me grow into a better version of myself than I would have been otherwise, showing me that meaningful change really is possible if you’re willing to do the work. Now, as a licensed therapist, I’m honored to help others on their path of self-discovery and healing.
Approach
My approach is integrative, drawing heavily from AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) which creates emotional healing and positive transformational experiences using a combination of neuroscience, attachment theory, body-based therapies, and a deeply interactive therapeutic connection. I see each person as more than the problem they walk in with, leveraging their resilience and desire to change as critical ingredients for healing. I also specialize in helping men deepen their capacity to understand and manage complex emotional states so they can have more self-confidence and greater satisfaction in their relationships.
Experience
I have 16 years of experience working with clients who represent a wide range of age, culture, race, socio-economic status and sexual orientation. In addition to private practice I have worked extensively with at-risk youth and their families as Director of a national mentoring program funded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention as well as being a Therapeutic Mentor for teens in crisis. I am also an experienced group facilitator of adults and teens.
